Here's a little update

10/19/2014

I know it's been a while since anything was last posted here, so I'd like to give everyone a bit of an update as to what's going on.

Unfortunately, we're in the middle of doing some recasting for a few major characters in Fruits Basket. As such, production has halted. Life happened for some of our actors, and they need to focus on that right now. We hope you will bear with us as we work to recast these characters and get everything back up to speed. With fingers crossed, we will be releasing episodes again in the first part of 2015.

As for the recent Con Project that we recorded, we are still working on it. The music department has their hands on the majority of the show, and is working on making sure the right music is put to the script.

In regards to Mimiko's Vacation, this project is currently on hold as we wait for a few recasts, as well as a few other technical issues to be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We do have a new project coming soon, a book trailer for the upcoming release of The Unknown Elf, a Christmas novel by our very own direct, Karlie Lucas. If you like action/adventure, with a bit of romance, Christmas fun, intrigue, and "butt kicking", go check it out on Amazon.com. The book is available for pre-0rder on Kindle, as well as in paper back.

Anime Fest 2014 and other stuff

We would like to thank all those who came out to visit and see our panels at Anime Fest 2014 in Downtown Dallas, TX. We had a great turnout, especially for the Voice Acting For The Average Joe panel. We hope that everyone who attended was able to receive the information they were looking for.

If you did attend, and have further questions, feel free to send us a message via our Contact page and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

We will be releasing a new Con Project, With You, by DakkTribal, in September. This project will feature the voices of volunteers from our voice acting panel at Anime Fest, along with the music of Deborah Jackson, so please look forward to that. We'll let you know as the release date comes closer.

An update on our other projects: We are still looking to cast some characters for Mimiko's Vacation, mainly Kotaro Mochizuki. We are looking for a young voice to play this role as the character is about ten years old. Male or female actors can audition for this role. Just send us a note to let us know you are interested.

Also, we are still on hiatus with Fruits Basket, though we hope to be back up and releasing episodes by October. Please be patient as we work out a few bugs and other matters.

We will be presenting "Voice Acting For The Average Joe" and "Mixing/Directing for Beginners". As usual, we also plan on producing another Con Project. So, if interested, please be sure to visit us there!

The down low of what's going up

Greetings all!

Over the past month or so, we have been packing up our studio and slowly moving it to our new location. We now have almost everything put back together and in place. However, we will still need to upgrade some equipment due to a massive thunderstorm that messed up our computers. Thankfully, we've been able to back up most of our work and should be getting things together to release the next episode of Fruits Basket by the end of June.

As to Mimiko's Vacation, we are still waiting on some casting of characters, mainly Kotaro. If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in playing this character, feel free to send us a message via our contact page for more information.

We will be presenting two panels at this year's Anime Fest in Dallas, TX so look forward to that as well. And we totally plan on doing another Con Project while we're there!

Thank you all so much for your patience! Hopefully the dust from moving will quickly settle and we can get back to doing what we love, making radio dramas!

On behalf of all casts and crews, I would like to wish all our listeners a Happy Easter, and if you celebrate Passover, Happy Passover.

A quick update for everyone in regards to our shows.

We are still looking to cast a few characters for Mimiko's Vacation. If interested, please send us a message! We are looking, currently, for a Kotaro and a few adult male characters, details provided upon request.

For Fruits Basket, we are waiting until our studio has officially moved, which will happen in less than a month. In the meantime, we hope you will enjoy all the previous episodes.

Also, look for our presentations at this year's Anime Fest in Downtown Dallas, Texas! We will be casting and recording for one of our Con Projects, as well as giving advi

Here's the Down-low.

Greetings all!

As head producer and Director for our current shows, I wanted to take the time to let you all know that there are a few schedule changes that will take place pretty much immediately.  Our studio, sadly, has to move locations once again, and as a result, our planned release schedule will be interrupted.

We have tried to put out an episode about every other month so far this year. As a result of our move, we have to pack up all our equipment and make sure we have our new location firmly settled. That being the case, it is very possible that we will not be releasing Fruits Basket episode 19 until June. We will also not be releasing any chapters of Mimiko's Vacation until after the move as well.

However, we will be presenting two panels at Anime Fest in Dallas, Texas.  Our panels include Voice Acting For the Average Joe and Mixing/Directing for Beginners. So, if you will be in the area in August, please feel free to come check us out. You can learn more about this convention, and our panels, by visiting Anime Fest's official website here. We will be casting and recording for one of our Con Projects during the Voice Acting panel.

Stay tuned for Fruits Basket episode 18, coming out this afternoon!

Trying to present at Anime Fest

3/1/2014

Greetings all!  We, at the Manga Project, are trying to get two panels at Anime Fest, Dallas for this 2014 convention year.  But we need your help.  To be seriously considered, our panel ideas must be voted on by those who are going to attend the convention. We have presented there before, but didn't last year because our main director got married and was trying to get everything together.  But we want to go again and could use your help!

We have Voice Acting for the Average Joe  and Mixing and Directing for Beginners.  You can only vote if you're registered to attend, but we would love to present our information to you!

Our Voice Acting panel focuses on the non-professional side of voice acting.

"Have you ever wondered if you had a talent for voice acting? Ever wanted to give voice acting a try? If so, this is the panel for you! Join us as we discuss the “how to's” and “don't do's” of voice acting for the non-professional actor. We'll give you a view of voice acting not usually discussed at conventions, including fan dubs, pod casts and radio dramas. Hands on demonstration of voice recording will be included so come and learn what it takes to get into the lesser known side of voice acting!"
We may even have the opportunity to voice in a small project, part of our Con Projects series.

Our Mixing and Directing panel focuses on, you guessed it, the art of putting together a fan based project.
"Have you ever thought about producing your own fan based voice over or radio drama production? Simply curious about all that goes into the process? If so, this is the panel for you. Join us as we discuss the process associated with putting together a fan based production, from start to finish. Learn fun little tidbits about the mixing process and how to mix in Audacity, as well as some tricks of the trade passed down by the experts."

Fruits Basket release and other information

2/1/2014

Greetings all!  We would like to announce the release of Episode 17 of Fruits Basket!  We have a few changes that you may, or may not realize with this episode.  First, some sound quality, yes, needs help, but we're working on it.  There were a few computer glitches along the way with this episode, but we hope that future episodes won't have the same problems.

Also, we would like to officially announce the addition of Debbie Jackson to our music team!  Along with music composed by one of our talented musicians, Julianna Bibb, Debbie Jackson joins us with over ten year's of composition and music related experience.  We're excited to bring her on board!

You may have also noticed, with our latest Character Introduction, that we have brought on a new artist for our production team.  Averi Cokely is replacing our previous artist and we all hope you will enjoy her artwork!

Episode 18 of Fruits Basket is scheduled to be released in the second half of February, no official date just yet, but we'll let you know as we get closer.

Also, Mimiko's Vacation is still in pre-production, with some casting choices still being considered, but we hope to be able to begin to release this show beginning no later than May of this year.

Getting back up into the new year

1/10/2014

Greetings all!

I know, I'm late putting this up and all that jazz, but hey, I've been out sick with the flu, and before that was the usual holiday stuff, so, here we go.  Here is what's going on for 2014.

The release of Episode 17 of Fruits Basket radio drama is going to happen closer to the end of this month, partly because I've been flat on my butt getting over the stupid flu, but partly because I'm getting back into the swing of mixing after working on scripting and my novel.  But, we plan on releasing at least one episode every month this year, or possibly two, pending on how certain projects go.

Mimiko's Vacation would start to be released around Mid-May.  Or such is the hope. We're still looking for a Kotaro Mochizuki, so if you're interested, by all means! Let us know!

Working on getting my novel up and going for potential publication later on this year, fingers crossed. I've got it almost to the point that I'm ready to send it off to a publisher.  Here's hoping all goes well with that.

Working on various other projects, that, as they become more clear and put together, I will announce, but until that happens.... you'll just have to wait and see what they are.

Also planning on attending a couple conventions this year, more as an attendee than a presenter of panels and awesome information on voice acting, but we'll see how it goes.  Anything is possible.

Happy Holidays!

12/28/2013

It comes a bit late, but we would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday, whichever you celebrate!  And a Happy New Year!

2013 has seen a lot of interesting things.

For Fruits Basket, we were able to release four episodes, as there were a lot of technical difficulties, and our head director and mixer got married.  We also some some cast changes.

With Shadows From The Past, we saw the release of the final chapters, completing the show.

The sequel to Shadows From The Past , Mimiko's Vacation, was announced for per-production, with casting still open.

Unfortunately, we did not see any Con Projects, as various activities and life changes kept us from being able to attend conventions as usual.  Hopefully, these will resume next year.

With the coming of 2014, we expect even more changes.  We will begin releasing Mimiko's Vacation by early spring.  The next episode of Fruits Basket, episode 17, will be released by the end of January.  And, with luck, we will be back on the convention scene, but we'll see.  Look for some new cast members and a few other surprises!
